Living in food swamps linked to higher risk of obesity-related cancer death.
A new study shows how food inequities across the U.S. are connecting 鈥渇ood swamps鈥 to an increased risk of dying from obesity-related cancers, like breast and liver cancer. The National Library of Medicine defines a food swamp as 鈥渁reas with a high-density of establishments selling high-calorie fast food and junk food, relative to healthier food options.鈥
