Whether it's due to data breaches, like is the case with Fidelity Investment, Krispy Kreme and Avis Car Rental, or another reason, there are many open class action lawsuits promising payouts as low as $50 or up to $5,000 for qualified applicants who apply on time.

Fidelity Investment settlement
If you were a Fidelity Investment customer affected by its 2024 data breach, you may be eligible for a payment of $50-$5,000 from a $2.5 million settlement of a class-action lawsuit involving the company.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Massachusetts, claimed Fidelity failed to protect its computer network from a "data security incident" that occurred between Aug. 17, 2024, and Aug. 19, 2024.
During that period, a third party gained unauthorized access to the network and obtained certain information, according to the settlement website. As part of the settlement, Fidelity denied any wrongdoing.

Avis experienced a security incident involving customer names, driver's license information, credit card numbers and expiration dates, birthdates and phone numbers between Aug. 3-6, 2024, according to the settlement website for the class action lawsuit. Avis claims no wrongdoing in the breach, but as part of an agreement, the car rental company is paying affected customers up to $5,000 for out-of-pocket expenses.

Apple settlement
If you purchased one of several Apple iPhone products, you may be eligible for a payment from a $250 million lawsuit the company agreed to settle this week.
The tech giant has agreed to the settlement in a case that alleged it deceived consumers over artificial intelligence enhancements in new iPhones in 2024. The lawsuit accused Apple of touting new AI technology, including Siri enhancements, while advertising the iPhone 16 at the time, but the device did not contain the elements when it was released, according to court filings.

Android settlement

According to the terms of a class-action settlement, people who used an Android product with access to the internet anytime after Nov. 12, 2017, may qualify for a portion of the settlement from the lawsuit, Taylor v. Google LLC, which alleged that Google needlessly collected cellular data that it purchased from mobile carriers.

Comcast settlement
Some Comcast customers may be eligible for a payment from a $117.5 million class-action lawsuit settlement.
The lawsuit alleges that Comcast "failed to properly protect personal information" and had "inadequate data security" resulting in an October 2023 data breach that exposed the information of millions of Xfinity customers.
The communications company has denied any wrongdoing. Comcast did tell customers in a notice that the personal information included in the data breach included usernames, passwords, contact information, dates of birth and last four digits of Social Security numbers.

The retail giant agreed to the settlement to resolve an antitrust lawsuit the FTC filed in 2023, where federal officials alleged Amazon coerced millions of consumers into enrolling in Prime subscriptions and then made those agreements extremely difficult to cancel.
